A designer’s dream, this client’s backyard blends into the woods from all sides. The challenge, and appeal, from a design standpoint, is to extend the home’s living space out toward the woods. We accomplished this by literally and visually extending the home’s roofline with a covered pavilion over the majority of the deck, which serves as the primary gathering area. Secondary focal areas include the uncovered side of the deck and a lower paver patio, which further draws you toward the woods.
Our team removed an old 2-tier deck and built the new, larger deck on a single level. To incorporate depth, we added a raised planting area secured by a paver wall between the raised deck and the lower level paver patio. Finally, lighting was integrated into the vaulted pavilion ceiling and an outdoor overhead fan allows for a consistent breeze at an enchanting place to relax and enjoy with family and friends.
